TURGUT AKACIK

Turgut Akacık was born in Istanbul in 1980. He studied sculpture at high school and he was interested in stop-motion animation since then. An internsip at Animation Studio & Production Company anima Istanbul caused his decision to go on with his career as an animator. He studied animation in Anatolian University (Fine Arts Faculty) and first worked as a character animator, then became lead animator and finally director at anima Istanbul. He continues to direct TV commercials, and doesn’t intend to stop animating anytime soon!

His film Don't Go, produced by anima Istanbul, was awarded twice at the International Animation Film Festival Annecy 2010 and received Special Distinction ex aequo for Short film and Junior Jury Award.
